4. Installation and Fitment

- Do not use the elbow to pull two misaligned male threads together. Align the parts first; a taper thread loaded sideways will weep and will not hold its position.
- Taper threaded joints are not designed for repeated assembly. Each reassembly distorts the thread slightly and requires fresh sealant. Replace the elbow if either internal thread shows flattening or if a thread gauge shows the taper has been drawn out.
