Metric Banjo Bolt: 700M Series (DIN 7643)

Why This Metric Banjo Bolt Passes the Compliance Gate
This 700M metric banjo bolt is the hollow, drilled bolt that clamps a banjo body eye to a port and lets fluid pass through its centre. OEM buyers, distributors and repair shops pick it when they need the exact port thread and eye height to match a body already on the line. The bolt seals at the washer faces, not on its thread, so it works with a straight metric port and never needs thread tape. Every batch is drilled for the oil passage, carbide-threaded and checked before it leaves the plant.
Core Advantages
- Hollow drilled shank. The centre bore feeds oil from the port through the bolt into the banjo eye without an external elbow.
- Eight metric thread sizes. M10X1 to M30X1.5 cover the common DIN 7643 port range in one family.
- Cold-headed carbon or 304/316L steel. Grain-continuous forming, carburized and hardened HRC 20-28, finished in trivalent zinc, zinc-nickel or Dacromet.
- Matched to 70011 bodies. Thread, length and eye height are built to pair with the metric banjo body range.
Technical Specifications
What Is a Banjo Bolt Hydraulic Hose Fitting?
A banjo bolt is a hollow, oil-drilled bolt with a plain (non-sealing) thread and a hex head. It passes through the ring eye of a banjo body, compresses a sealing washer above and below the eye, and screws into a straight metric port. Fluid enters through the side holes near the shank, travels up the centre bore and out to the hose. Because the thread does not seal, the washer pair does the sealing and the eye angle can be set before final torque. This is why a metric banjo bolt suits tight, fixed ports that a standard elbow cannot reach.

Working Pressure and Operating Envelope
Rated pressure is fixed by the mating port standard and the hose grade together, not by the bolt alone. A banjo bolt normally carries a lower pressure rating than a solid straight-thread stud of the same size, because the drilled centre bore reduces its cross-section. Confirm the working pressure against the data table and the system pressure before specifying. Do not use a metric banjo bolt above the pressure of its matching body, hose and washer set, and consult our engineers for high-pressure pulsating duty.
Typical service temperature range is -40 °C to +120 °C, fixed by the hose, washer and fluid actually used. Standard parts ship with a 100% factory pressure test; torque and crimp data sheets are supplied with the order.
Selection and Ordering
How to Read the Part Number Matrix
Read the code left to right: family, then thread. In 700M-18, 700M is the DIN 7643 metric hollow bolt family and 18 is the M18X1.5 thread. A, B, C and S1 come from the drawing and let you check the shank and head against the port and the eye height. Always match the THREAD E value to the BOLT column of the banjo body you are pairing it with.
Thread Size and Dash Chart
The bolt thread sets which body dash sizes it can clamp. Pair each bolt with the same thread and a long enough shank for the eye plus two washers.
| Bolt Thread | Typical Banjo Body Dash (DN) |
|---|---|
| M10X1 | 03 (5), 04 (6) |
| M12X1.5 | 04 (6), 05 (8), 06 (10) |
| M14X1.5 | 04 (6), 05 (8), 06 (10) |
| M16X1.5 | 04 (6), 05 (8), 06 (10) |
| M18X1.5 | 04 (6), 05 (8), 06 (10), 08 (12) |
| M22X1.5 | 06 (10), 08 (12), 10 (16) |
| M26X1.5 | 12 (20) |
| M30X1.5 | 16 (25), 20 (32) |
Matching Banjo Bolts and Sealing Washers
A metric banjo bolt only works as part of a set, so order the bolt, body and washers together. The thread must equal the body BOLT column, and the shank must clear the eye height plus both washers. Sealing washers are usually DIN 7603 copper or aluminum rings and are compressed once, so replace rather than reuse a flattened washer. Bolts, bodies and washers are sold separately; choose by thread size and eye height.
Cross Reference Service
Send us an OEM number, a worn sample or a photo and our team will map it to the closest 700M bolt code. We translate legacy part numbers into the family-thread system without changing your thread or port type. This keeps spare-parts lists clean when you consolidate several old codes into one metric banjo bolt family.
Packaging and Logistics
Standard packing is 10 pcs per box with a batch label on every carton. Origin is Made in China, brand HENGHUA, and each order ships with its MTR. Mixed sizes can be boxed to your pick list, and private labels, laser marking and custom thread or surface finishes are available on request.
Assembly and Use Guide
Four-Step Crimping Procedure
The bolt pairs with a crimped hose end, so the hose assembly still follows the same four steps:
- Cut the hose square and clean, keeping the bore free of debris.
- Mark the insertion depth on the hose as the fitting drawing requires.
- Lubricate the hose and the fitting shell lightly, then push the hose fully to the mark.
- Crimp with the correct die, then verify the crimp diameter with a caliper against the data sheet.
Installing the Banjo End
- Place one sealing washer on the port face and pass the bolt through the eye and the second washer.
- Hand-start the hollow bolt into the port, keeping the washer centred on the port face.
- Rotate the eye to the hose route you need, then hold it while you tighten the bolt to the data-sheet torque.
- Clean and flatten the port face first, and never use thread tape or thread sealant on a banjo thread.
Installation Warnings
- Do not fit a banjo bolt without washers, with the wrong washer size, or with a reused, flattened washer.
- Never mix a banjo bolt with tapered thread (BSPT/NPT) or cone-seat (JIC/ORFS) ports or ends.
- Do not over-torque the bolt: too much force deforms the eye and destroys the washer seal.
- Do not mix bolts, bodies and washers from different brands, series or thread systems.
- Always match thread, bolt length and eye height, and replace washers on every re-assembly.
OEM Customization and Quality Traceability
Customization Options
We build metric banjo bolts to your drawing or sample, including non-standard shank lengths, special thread pitches and selected surface finishes. Laser marking and private labels let your own part number appear on the head or shank. Send a drawing or sample and we reply with a quotation within 24 hours.
Quality and Traceability System
Every batch is drilled for the oil passage, carburized and hardened to HRC 20-28, then pressure tested and thread-gauged before packing. A batch number links each bolt back to its material, heat treatment and test records, and the MTR travels with the order. BV or SGS inspection can be arranged when your project requires it.
FAQ
What is a metric banjo bolt? It is a hollow, oil-drilled bolt with a parallel metric thread and a hex head. It clamps a banjo eye to a straight port and carries fluid through its centre bore.
How does a banjo bolt seal? The thread does not seal. A sealing washer above and below the eye is compressed against the port face, so the seal is on the washer faces.
Can I reuse the sealing washers? No. Use a new DIN 7603 copper or aluminum washer each time; a deformed or flattened washer will not seal reliably.
Will this metric banjo bolt fit a BSPP or BSPT port? It fits straight metric ports only. Never use it in a tapered thread port; use the matching thread system instead.
Do I need thread sealant or tape? No. The washer pair provides the seal, and tape or sealant can block the oil passage or crack the bolt.
Do you supply the matching body and washers? Yes. Order the matching metric banjo body and DIN 7603 washers so thread, length and eye height all match.
Can you make a custom shank length or private-label version? Yes. We produce custom shank lengths, threads and surface finishes, and apply laser marking or private labels on request.
How fast is a quotation? Send your drawing, sample or part number and we reply within 24 hours.
