• For hydraulic systems, prefer sealant paste over PTFE tape: tape shreds can travel into the circuit and jam valves.
• Specify NPTF where sealant must be avoided; the dryseal joint still needs controlled torque.
• Never mix NPT with BSP threads: the 60° and 55° flank angles are incompatible and will gall or leak.
