ORFS stands for O-Ring Face Seal, a US-origin connection standardized by SAE J1453 and internationally by ISO 8434-3. This male straight fitting belongs to the family of O-ring face seal hydraulic fittings, together with the female, elbow and interlock versions. The male half carries an external thread plus a flat face with an O-ring, and it mates to a female ORFS port or swivel nut that presses the O-ring into its groove. Because the seal is on the end face, the thread only provides clamping force and never acts as the sealing element.
