It is the standard answer when a European or Japanese machine body is ported with R threads while the tube side uses metric DIN 2353 hardware.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Connection 1 \u2014 Metric Male 24\u00b0 Cone (L or S Series)<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The tube leg is a metric male stud with an external 24\u00b0 cone per DIN 2353 \/ ISO 8434-1. 1CT9-SP uses the L series thread (M12\u00d71.5 for 6 mm tube up to M52\u00d72 for 42 mm tube); 1DT9-SP uses the S series thread, one size larger for the same tube (M14\u00d71.5 for 6 mm tube up to M52\u00d72 for 38 mm). The thread is sealed by the interference between the tapered male and the tapered port, with the assistance of a thread sealant. The thread pitch depends on the size: 28 TPI at R1\/8&#8243;, 19 TPI at R1\/4&#8243; and R3\/8&#8243;, 14 TPI at R1\/2&#8243; and R3\/4&#8243;, and 11 TPI at R1&#8243; and above \u2014 which is why two fittings of visibly different diameter can share the same thread callout.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Three thread systems are routinely confused: BSPT (R, 55\u00b0, tapered), BSPP (G, 55\u00b0, parallel) and NPT (60\u00b0, tapered). BSPT and NPT threads look similar and will start into each other, but the 55\u00b0 \/ 60\u00b0 flank angles do not match, and a cross-assembled joint either cracks the port boss or weeps. A parallel G thread in a tapered R port has no interference at all.
