What Is a SAE O-Ring Boss Swivel Male Hydraulic Hose Fitting?

A SAE O-ring boss swivel male hydraulic hose fitting carries a male straight-thread nose with an O-ring groove, joined to the hose tail through a captive swivel nut that rotates on a bearing shoulder. Tighten the hex nut with a wrench and the O-ring compresses against the machined boss face to form the seal, while the tail and hose stay exactly where you placed them. Never wind Teflon tape or thread sealant onto the straight threads – the O-ring is the only seal, and tape debris will contaminate the circuit.
