What a 1BT9-SP Adapter Does<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The 1BT9-SP adapter is a 90\u00b0 elbow hydraulic conversion adapter that joins a BSPP port to a BSPT port. Connection 1 is a BSPP male stud end with a 60\u00b0 cone seat, produced to ISO 228-1 and used against an ISO 1179 port. Connection 2 is a BSPT male taper thread to ISO 7-1. The 90\u00b0 body turns the flow through a right angle, which keeps a hose or tube run close to the manifold face it leaves.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Both connection ends must match their mating port exactly, because that is the precondition for eliminating leakage at the conversion point. A cross standard adapter does not try to make a parallel thread behave like a taper thread; it carries one correctly machined end for each port and lets both ports keep the thread form they were designed for.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The sealing methods are different at the two ends, and that difference defines the product. The BSPP end seals on a 60\u00b0 cone seat against the mating cone, or on a bonded seal when the port face is flat. The BSPT end is a taper thread that seals on the thread flanks and requires a sealant. Because BSPP and BSPT share a 55\u00b0 thread angle but differ in pitch and taper, the two ends can never be swapped.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. 1BT9-SP Specifications<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.1 Connection 1 \u2014 BSPP (G) male stud end, 60\u00b0 cone seat<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Thread standard: ISO 228-1 parallel pipe thread (BSPP, G thread).<\/li>\r\n<li>Mating port standard: ISO 1179, ports and stud ends with ISO 228-1 threads, 60\u00b0 cone seat configuration.<\/li>\r\n<li>Gender: male stud end.<\/li>\r\n<li>Available thread sizes on Connection 1: G1\/8&#8243;x28 to G3\/4&#8243;x14, covering the Thread E column in the table in section 2.5.<\/li>\r\n<li>Sealing method: 60\u00b0 cone seat against the mating cone, or a bonded seal (Dowty-type washer) against a flat face.<\/li>\r\n<li>Seat rule: the BSPP threads are not the sealing element. They position the stud end, while the 60\u00b0 cone or the bonded seal produces the pressure-tight joint.<\/li>\r\n<li>Hex: a hex (S1) on the elbow body provides a spanner face, so torque is applied to the adapter and not to the connected pipework.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.2 Connection 2 \u2014 BSPT male taper thread<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Thread standard: ISO 7-1 pipe threads where pressure-tight joints are made on the threads (BSPT, R thread).<\/li>\r\n<li>Gender: male taper thread.<\/li>\r\n<li>Available thread sizes on Connection 2: R1\/8&#8243;x28 to R2&#8243;x11, covering the Thread F column in the table in section 2.5.<\/li>\r\n<li>Sealing method: the taper thread seals on the thread flanks. A thread sealant suited to the fluid and the system is applied to the taper end before assembly.<\/li>\r\n<li>Reuse rule: a taper thread relies on flank contact, so inspect a previously fitted taper end for flattened or galled threads before it is reused.<\/li>\r\n<li>Cross-standard note: a BSPT adapter seals on the thread flanks while a BSPP adapter seals on the seat, so never force a BSPP parallel stud end into a BSPT port and never screw a BSPT taper end into a BSPP parallel port. They enter by a few turns and then bind, which deforms the threads on both parts.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.3 Construction and Materials<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The body is machined from bar stock on CNC lathes. How to Read a 1BT9-SP Adapter Part Number<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Every part number in this series follows one pattern, so the table can be read without a separate catalogue.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Prefix <code>1BT9-SP<\/code>: the family code. <code>1<\/code> marks the male-to-male conversion group, <code>B<\/code> marks the BSPP end with a 60\u00b0 seat, <code>T<\/code> marks the BSPT male taper end, <code>9<\/code> marks the 90\u00b0 elbow body, and <code>SP<\/code> is the suffix carried by every part number in this series as listed in the specification.<\/li>\r\n<li>First size code after the dash: the Thread E size on the BSPP end.<\/li>\r\n<li>Optional second size code: the Thread F size on the BSPT end. When only one size code is present, E and F are the same nominal size, as in 1BT9-04SP.<\/li>\r\n<li>Two-digit codes repeat the numerator of the thread size, which can be verified from any row: 02 = 1\/8&#8243;, 04 = 1\/4&#8243;, 06 = 3\/8&#8243;, 08 = 1\/2&#8243;, 10 = 5\/8&#8243;, 12 = 3\/4&#8243;, 16 = 1&#8243;, 20 = 1.1\/4&#8243;, 24 = 1.1\/2&#8243;, 32 = 2&#8243;.<\/li>\r\n<li>The <code>10<\/code> code appears only where a G5\/8&#8243; BSPP end is combined with a smaller BSPT end, as in 1BT9-10-08SP and 1BT9-10-12SP.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Worked example, row 1BT9-12-16SP: <code>1BT9-SP<\/code> is the 90\u00b0 elbow BSPP-to-BSPT male family, <code>12<\/code> is the Thread E code for G3\/4&#8243;x14 on the BSPP end, and <code>16<\/code> is the Thread F code for R1&#8243;x11 on the BSPT end. The row then gives A = 43.5 mm, B = 50 mm and S1 = 33 mm. The part number therefore fixes the family, the angle, the standard on each end and the exact thread size.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Installation and Fitment<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Inspect before assembly. Check that the 60\u00b0 cone seat is free of burrs, scores and swarf, and that the BSPT taper thread is clean and undamaged. A scored seat cannot be recovered by additional tightening.<\/li>\r\n<li>Apply sealant only where the sealing method requires it. The BSPT taper end seals on the thread flanks and needs a sealant suited to the fluid. The BSPP 60\u00b0 cone end seals on the seat and does not need sealant on the threads when a cone seat is used.<\/li>\r\n<li>Fit the bonded seal where the port face is flat. The bonded seal (Dowty-type washer) seals against a flat face, and a new washer is used for each assembly because bonded seals are single-use parts.<\/li>\r\n<li>Align before tightening. Start both ends by hand and confirm the threads run in freely. Tighten to snug contact, then apply the additional tightening angle specified for the joint. No tightening angle value appears in the series specification, so work to the value in your assembly instruction or confirm it with HENGHUA engineering.<\/li>\r\n<li>Use the hex. Tighten on the S1 hex with a spanner that fits, so the load passes through the body and not through the taper thread.<\/li>\r\n<li>Contamination control.
