SAE O-Ring Boss Swivel Male Hydraulic Hose Fitting: 16011SW Series (ISO 11926 / SAE J1926)

SAE O-ring boss swivel male hydraulic hose fitting specification and dimension chart for 16011SW for braided hoses

Why This SAE O-Ring Boss Swivel Male Hydraulic Hose Fitting Passes the Compliance Gate

The 16011SW is a SAE O-ring boss swivel male hydraulic hose fitting built to the straight-thread O-ring geometry of ISO 11926 and SAE J1926, with one extra feature: the threaded nose is mounted on a rotating hex nut, so the whole fitting turns freely on the hose tail during assembly. For OEMs, distributors and maintenance crews this means a straight male fitting can be oriented to the port without twisting or pre-stressing the hose, which removes a leading cause of premature hose failure. The O-ring face seal itself is identical to the fixed 16011 head, so sealing performance and port interchangeability are unchanged. When machine space is tight, this class of hydraulic swivel hose fittings saves routing time and protects the hose from torsional stress.

Core Advantages

  1. Swivel hex nut on a full ORB head – align the fitting to the port after crimping, and the hose never twists during tightening.
  2. SAE J1926/ISO 11926 O-ring face seal – a groove-mounted O-ring seals on the flat boss face; the UNF straight threads only retain the joint.
  3. Engineered for braided hose – tail dashes -06 to -12 cover the most common one-wire and two-wire braided constructions.
  4. Full process traceability – 100% pressure test, thread inspection and batch records on every order.

Technical Specifications

What Is a SAE O-Ring Boss Swivel Male Hydraulic Hose Fitting?

A SAE O-ring boss swivel male hydraulic hose fitting carries a male straight-thread nose with an O-ring groove, joined to the hose tail through a captive swivel nut that rotates on a bearing shoulder. Tighten the hex nut with a wrench and the O-ring compresses against the machined boss face to form the seal, while the tail and hose stay exactly where you placed them. This “align first, tighten second” sequence is what makes the swivel version the preferred choice for tight routings, angled installations and any circuit where the hose must not be wound up before it is clamped.

The head follows SAE J1926 / ISO 11926 O-ring boss practice and is dimensionally the same as the fixed 16011 family, so it mates with the same ports and uses the same O-ring-to-thread-dash logic. It must not be confused with JIC 37-degree (SAE J514) or 45-degree flare (SAE J513) cone fittings, whose tapered sealing faces are not compatible with ORB bosses.

Dimensional Data

Symbol Description

Full Dimension Table (Part Number Matrix)

All dimensions are in millimetres. Each part number reads as 16011SW - thread dash - hose dash; for example 16011SW-10-08 means a 7/8″-14 thread end with a -08 hose tail. Threads are shown as in the original chart and are UNF straight threads (for example 3/4″X16 = 3/4″-16 UNF). The O-ring code always follows the thread dash: O908 for -08, O910 for -10 and O912 for -12.

PART NO. E THREAD HOSE BORE DN (mm) HOSE DASH O-RING A (mm) S2 (mm)
16011SW-08-06 3/4″X16 10 06 O908 57.5 27
16011SW-08-08 3/4″X16 12 08 O908 58 27
16011SW-10-08 7/8″X14 12 08 O910 59.5 27
16011SW-10-10 7/8″X14 16 10 O910 60.1 27

Working Pressure and Operating Envelope

Working pressure is set jointly by the SAE J1926 port standard and the grade of braided hose you crimp; HENGHUA does not publish a standalone fitting rating because the assembly is only as strong as its weakest member. Every 16011SW assembly leaves the factory after a 100% pressure test, and the torque and crimp-diameter data sheet for your hose is supplied with the order. If you need a SAE O-ring boss swivel male hydraulic hose fitting in a size outside this matrix, contact engineering for a made-to-order evaluation. Operating temperature is typically -40°C to +120°C, with system de-rating governed by the hose and seal materials in the circuit.

Selection and Ordering

How to Read the Part Number Matrix

Read the code left to right: 16011SW fixes the swivel O-ring boss head, the next two digits give the thread dash (-08, -10 or -12) and the last two digits give the hose dash (-06, -08, -10 or -12). The O-ring code follows the thread dash one-to-one, so the O-ring column lets you verify any code before you order. Because one thread size covers several hose sizes, always quote both the port thread and the hose dash together.

For the port side of the assembly this matrix is the SAE O-ring boss swivel male hydraulic hose fitting reference: thread dash, O-ring and hex size are listed row by row. A SAE O-ring boss swivel male hydraulic hose fitting bought by code arrives with the O-ring already matched to the thread and the swivel nut pre-assembled on the tail, ready to crimp.

Thread Size and Dash Chart

Thread (as drawn) UNF equivalent Thread dash O-ring Hose dash sizes in this series
3/4″X16 3/4″-16 UNF 08 O908 06, 08
7/8″X14 7/8″-14 UNF 10 O910 08, 10
1.1/16″X12 1-1/16″-12 UNF 12 O912 12

Cross Reference Service

Send us your old part number or a worn sample and our engineers will translate it into the correct 16011SW code, checking thread form, O-ring dash and swivel configuration against the drawing before you order. The service is free for OEMs and distributors ordering in volume, and it speeds up consolidation of legacy inventories onto one swivel crimp system. We never attach another manufacturer’s brand to our parts.

Emballage et logistique

Standard packing is 10 pieces per box with a batch label on every carton; export cartons are marked with part number, quantity and “Made in China – HENGHUA”. The material test report travels with each shipment and mixed part numbers can share one container to keep freight economical. Split deliveries by air can be arranged against a confirmed schedule for urgent production stops.

Assembly and Use Guide

Four-Step Crimping Procedure

  1. Cut the hose square – use a sharp saw and a hose cutter, then blow out any debris from the bore.
  2. Mark the insertion depth – transfer the tail length from the fitting drawing onto the hose cover as a witness mark.
  3. Lubricate and insert – apply a thin film of assembly lubricant to the tail and push the hose in with a slight twist until it reaches the mark.
  4. Crimp and verify – crimp with the die set matched to the hose construction, then check the crimped outside diameter with a caliper against the data sheet supplied with the order.

Connecting the O-Ring Boss End

Slide the hose and fitting into position first, then rotate the swivel nut by hand until the threaded nose runs into the port without force; the swivel lets you do this without turning the hose. Lightly coat the O-ring with clean hydraulic oil, seat the fitting against the boss face, and tighten the S2 hex with a torque wrench to the SAE J1926 values given in the order-specific data sheet. Never wind Teflon tape or thread sealant onto the straight threads – the O-ring is the only seal, and tape debris will contaminate the circuit.

Installation Warnings

  • ✔ Rotate the swivel nut, never the hose, to orient the fitting to the port.
  • ✔ Check the boss face is flat, clean and free of burrs before assembly.
  • ✔ Use a torque wrench; the correct value is given on the order-specific data sheet.
  • ❌ Do not use the hose as a lever to tighten the joint.
  • ❌ Do not use Teflon tape or thread sealant on the straight threads.
  • ❌ Do not mix this ORB end with JIC 37-degree (SAE J514) or 45-degree flare (SAE J513) ports – the sealing systems are different.
  • ❌ Do not over-torque the swivel nut beyond the recommended value; the O-ring, not the thread, carries the seal.

OEM Customization and Quality Traceability

Customization Options

We offer OEM and private-label programs including laser marking of your part number and logo, custom plating, special thread tolerances and modified tail lengths for unusual hose covers. Send a drawing or a sample and our team will quote tooling and lead time within 24 hours.

Quality and Traceability System

Every heat and batch is tracked from cold heading through machining, heat treatment, plating and final test, so a batch number traces back to the material certificate. Pressure testing is 100% rather than sample-based, and the MTR is included with the order; BV or SGS witness inspection can be arranged on request.

FAQ

1. What does “swivel” mean on the 16011SW fitting? The threaded nose sits on a rotating hex nut that turns freely on the hose tail. You can align the fitting to the port after crimping without twisting or winding the hose. For tight machine routings, hydraulic swivel hose fittings with this rotating-nut design keep the hose relaxed while the port end is aligned.

2. What is the difference between 16011 and 16011SW? The head, thread and O-ring are the same SAE J1926/ISO 11926 design. The 16011 is a fixed one-piece body, while the 16011SW adds the rotating nut for orientation without hose twist.

3. Is the seal still an O-ring? Yes. The O-ring in the groove at the base of the straight thread seals against the flat boss face; the threads only hold the joint. No tape or sealant is used on the threads.

4. Which hose can I use with 16011SW? The series is produced for braided hose in dash sizes -06 to -12. Contact our engineers if your assembly uses spiral hose so we can specify the correct part.

5. Can this fitting connect to a JIC or flare port? No. JIC 37-degree (SAE J514), 45-degree flare (SAE J513) and O-ring boss (SAE J1926/ISO 11926) are separate sealing systems and their parts are not interchangeable.

6. What pressure is this fitting rated for? Working pressure is determined by the SAE J1926 port standard together with your braided hose grade. Every assembly is 100% pressure tested and the torque and crimp data sheet accompanies the order.

7. Can I get OEM marking on the swivel nut or body? Yes. Laser marking of your part number, custom plating and packaging are standard OEM services; send artwork and we will confirm the lead time within 24 hours.
