It is the hydraulic conversion adapter used when a machine built around SAE inch tube connections has to meet a manifold, cylinder or valve block machined with metric ports.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Both connection ends must match their mating port exactly in thread form, seat angle and seat condition, because that match is the precondition for eliminating leakage at the conversion point. A 1JM adapter does not convert one sealed joint into another kind of joint: it carries two different sealing systems on one body, an SAE inch cone on one side and an ISO metric seat on the other.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Sealing principle of this series: connection 1 is a 74\u00b0 external cone that seats metal-to-metal on the mating 74\u00b0 internal cone, and connection 2 is a 60\u00b0 external cone that seats metal-to-metal on the mating 60\u00b0 internal seat. What a 1JM Adapter Does<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A 1JM adapter is a straight stud with a JIC 74\u00b0 cone male end on one side and a metric male 60\u00b0 seat end on the other. It connects a tube assembly terminated with a JIC 74\u00b0 cone nut and sleeve to a port machined with a metric 60\u00b0 internal seat.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This JIC adapter does one job: it moves fluid between an SAE inch port and an ISO metric port without changing direction. The E column of the size table is always the JIC 74\u00b0 cone end, printed in the SAE style such as <code>7\/16\"X20<\/code>. The F column is always the metric 60\u00b0 seat end, printed as a metric thread such as <code>M14X1.5<\/code>. A row such as 1JM-06-14 therefore carries a 9\/16&#8243;x18 JIC cone at one end and an M14x1.5 metric cone seat at the other.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This is a cross standard hydraulic conversion adapter in the strict sense. The two ends of this male adapter belong to different standards, thread forms and seat angles, so a 74\u00b0 cone will not seat in a 60\u00b0 seat and a 60\u00b0 stud will not seat in a 74\u00b0 cone. The conversion has to be made by a body that carries each seat at its own end.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Because both seals are cone seals, the condition of the two cones governs the result. The two blocks above are deliberately mirrored so a buyer can map one end to one port on the machine and the other end to the second port without translation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.3 Construction and Materials<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The body is machined from bar stock on CNC lathes. The two threads, the 74\u00b0 cone, the 60\u00b0 cone and the hex are turned in one setup so the two ends stay concentric and the seat angles are held relative to one another.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Body material: carbon steel as standard; 304 stainless steel or 316 stainless steel on request; brass for selected sizes.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Plating and finish: trivalent chromium zinc plating (Cr3+) for carbon steel as standard; zinc-nickel plating available. Plating thickness and corrosion performance are confirmed per order rather than published as a series figure.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Seal material options: both joints in this series are metal-to-metal, so the stud itself carries no elastomer. There is no bulkhead feature in this series.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.4 Pressure and Temperature<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Working pressure for a 1JM adapter is not set by the series code. It is governed by the thread size, the wall thickness of the stud and the tube, the sealing method and the material selected. Working pressure for these sizes is confirmed per order by HENGHUA engineering, based on the thread size, sealing method and material selected.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Temperature is a material question and is stated here as a material fact rather than a performance claim. For NBR seals, the working range is approximately -30\u00b0C to +100\u00b0C. For FKM (Viton-type) seals, it is approximately -20\u00b0C to +200\u00b0C. For EPDM seals, it is approximately -40\u00b0C to +120\u00b0C. These figures apply to the elastomer rather than to the metal cone joints of this series.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Carbon steel with zinc plating suits general hydraulic service; specify 304 or 316 stainless steel for corrosive, offshore or washdown environments, where the metric end of a machine is often the side exposed to the more aggressive conditions.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.5 Part Number and Dimension Table<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The table below is the complete printed size range of the 1JM series. Use nut NB200 with sleeve NB500 for metric tube, and nut NB200 with sleeve NB300 for inch tube.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. How to Read a 1JM Part Number<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A 1JM part number has three elements: the series prefix and the two size codes, one for each end. There is no sealing suffix on this series.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The prefix <code>1JM<\/code> identifies the geometry and the thread pair: a straight stud with a JIC 74\u00b0 cone male end and a metric male 60\u00b0 seat end. Other prefixes in the same catalogue identify a metric male captive seal end, an NPT male end or a BSP male end.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The first size code is the JIC end, taken from the SAE dash convention, and the second size code is the metric end, taken from the metric thread designation. Check that the metric port is a 60\u00b0 seat port rather than a gasket-sealed port, because the sealing system changes with the port, not with the thread.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Installation and Fitment<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Both ends of a 1JM adapter are cone joints, so both ends are assembled by hand first and then tightened to seat the cone. HENGHUA does not print a single torque figure for the series, because the correct tightening depends on the mating nut and seat, the tube material and the wall thickness. Confirm the tightening figure with HENGHUA engineering per order.
