One end is a double use BSP male stud end that seals either on a 60 degree cone seat or on a flat face with a bonded seal washer. The other end is a JIC male with a 74 degree cone, the included angle that matches the 37 degree flare used on SAE J514 tube ends. The BSP side is BSPP (G thread) to ISO 228-1 and the JIC side is a UNF thread to SAE J514. HENGHUA produces the range in carbon steel with zinc plating, in 304 and 316 stainless steel, and in brass.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. What a 1BJ Adapter Does<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Machines built in different regions often end up with a British Standard Pipe port feeding a hose assembly made with JIC flared tube ends. The 1BJ adapter joins the two on one axis. Its BSP stud end is the double use design fitted across this family, sealing on a 60 degree internal cone or on a flat annular face with a bonded seal washer. Its JIC end has a 74 degree external cone that seats into the 37 degree flare of the mating tube end, so the metal to metal flare does the sealing while the nut and thread carry the load.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Because the JIC side is a metal to metal flare joint, it does not depend on an elastomer, which suits circuits running at higher temperatures than a washer sealed joint would tolerate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Specifications<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.1 Connection 1<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Connection 1 is the double use BSP male stud end.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Thread form: BSPP (G thread) to ISO 228-1, parallel, 55 degree thread form, stated as size and threads per inch, for example G1\/2&#8243;X14.<\/li>\r\n<li>Port end geometry: 60 degree internal cone seat combined with a flat face for a bonded seal washer.<\/li>\r\n<li>Sealing options: 60 degree cone seat or bonded seal washer on the flat face.<\/li>\r\n<li>Sizes in the series: G1\/8&#8243;X28 through G2&#8243;X11.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.2 Connection 2<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Connection 2 is the JIC male end with the 74 degree cone.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Thread form: UNF parallel thread to SAE J514, stated as a nominal tube size and threads per inch, for example 7\/16&#8243;X20, 9\/16&#8243;X18 or 1.1\/16&#8243;X12.<\/li>\r\n<li>Sealing method: 74 degree external cone seating into the 37 degree flare of the mating tube end, metal to metal, no elastomer required.<\/li>\r\n<li>Standard: SAE J514, hydraulic tube fittings with 37 degree flared tube ends.<\/li>\r\n<li>Configuration: straight, both connections on one axis.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.3 Construction and Materials<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Carbon steel body with zinc plating as standard.<\/li>\r\n<li>Trivalent chromium zinc (Cr3+) plating and zinc-nickel plating as available options.<\/li>\r\n<li>304 stainless steel and 316 stainless steel for corrosive and marine duty.<\/li>\r\n<li>Brass bodies where a non-ferrous part is required.<\/li>\r\n<li>The 74 degree cone is machined and checked against the mating flare angle, since a cone that does not match the flare will leak under pressure.<\/li>\r\n<li>Sealing at the BSP end by 60 degree cone seat or by bonded seal washer in NBR, FKM or EPDM.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.4 Pressure and Temperature<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Working pressure is not one figure for the series. It depends on the connection size, the wall thickness of the body and the sealing method, and HENGHUA engineering confirms the working pressure for each ordered size and seal combination on the order.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Temperature is limited by the materials in the joint. How to Read a 1BJ Part Number<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>1BJ is the series code: BSP male double use for 60 degree seat or bonded seal, with a JIC male 74 degree cone end.<\/li>\r\n<li>The first number pair is the E thread, the BSP double use stud end.<\/li>\r\n<li>The second number pair is the F thread, the JIC end, given as the nominal tube size in sixteenths.
